6/4/2023 Ducks Annual Split with the Bats as They Debut Their New Js
Game 1 is a pitchers battle between our ace, Jason, and Bats' Nick Nelson, as we struggle to get on base until the top of the 4th. The flock starts finding openings in the pond as Paul rips a 2-RBI double down the left field line, capitalizing on a 5 run inning. Bats answer back in the 5th and 6th with 2 runs each pushing the game into extra innings. Top of the 8th Ducks take the lead and game by statement with a 2-run Glom-bomb to deep left center! Ducks win 7-5.
Game 2 is a steamer as the temperature continued to rise. Glom misses a Grand Slam by inches, which would have kept the game close. Anthony hits his first TCMABL HR in the 6th. Bats roll the Ducks in a 5-17 L.
Ducks look forward to taking on the Saints next weekend at home.

5/28/2023 Ducks Start Season Strong with a Routing of Newcomer Colts
Ducks take game 1 with solid pitching and patience at the plate. We put up 14 runs in the 4th inning to clinch a confidence-building game. This was a great team game with all starting players scoring at least one run. JT missed a grandslam by a few feet and had to settle for a 3RBI double instead. Our pitchers gave up one hit all game. Multiple Ducks have 3+ RBIs and we had a team OPS of >1.100.
The Colts put up a good fight in game 2, and made it close. We put up 5 in the top of 7 to make this game look more one-sided than it was! Evan, Peter Duck, and Paul cruised through 5.2 ininngs and Swan's heater put the fear of God in their eyes. He got a 4 out save. Asa gets 2 doubles.
Week 8: Ducks Battle Cardinals well, but Drop Both Games
Game 1: Ducks 2 | Cardinals 8
As always, Nate took the mound and put us in position to win game 1. He threw 3 great innings, but the bats couldn't get going. The Cardinals' bats woke up in the 4th and 5th, and we didn't respond at the plate.
Notable Performances
Thomas: 2-3, R
Nelson: 1-3, R, RBI
Bielenberg: 1-3, RBI
Game 2: Ducks 12 | Cardinals 13
This was one of the most impressive offensive performances the Ducks have ever put together. Each time the Cardinals put up runs, we matched them. It was certainly the most resiliant performance of the season. We plated 4 runs in the 6th and 3 runs in the 7th, but left the tying run on 2nd. However, this weekend felt like a win. Here's why:
Notable Performances
Fenner: HR, 3 RBI, 2 R, First HR of TCMABL Career. He claim first of non-Little League career, but I call bullshit.
Moen: 2-2, 2 2B, 2 BB, 2R, 2 SB, RBI
Arneson: 3-3, 2B, BB, 2R
Thomas: 2-4, 4 RBI
The Ducks hope to get a mild repreive from our brutal July against the Tomcats next week. We will be at Barnes field yet again.

Week 7: Ducks and Bombers Split in GOTW Showdown
Game 1: Ducks 7 | Bombers 4
The Bombers pulled a power move and elected to bat first. They plated an unearned run in the 1st inning, but we remained headstrong and played great D the rest of the day. We scratched across 2 in the first, 3 in the second, and 1 on the third to put Nate in position to win the game. Swan came in the 5th and recoreded 9 big outs.
At the plate, Nelson was 1-2 with a sac fly and double. Paul also got a double and a couple runs. Jake had two hits. Tanner had a sick bunt single and a couple walks. It was a great team offensive attack.
Game 2: Ducks 1 | Bombers 9
Pitching by committee in game 2, Swan, Jason, Tanner, and Paul all got some work. We gave the Bombers too many free bases and they had some timely hits to capitalize.
Usually, we can rely on our bats to keep us in the one, but we didnt' have an answer for Bombers' ace Chris Lyons. He was allowed to paint a liberal outside corner and sat down 13 Ducks ove the 7 innings. Ben and Quigs with a hit, Asa with a double.
We have a tough one against the Cardinals next week. See you at Barnes field on the 17th!

Week 6: Ducks Sweep Hippos
Game 1: Ducks 10 | Hippos 3
With the Hippo's CHS Field exhibition cancelled, we knew we'd face their best and be on a difficult safari this week. Larson was outstanding on the mound, riding a no-hittter going into the 7th. They ended up plating 3 runs in that inning, but we had a comfortable lead.
Quigs, JT, and Ben led the charge at the plate, all going 3-4 with a double.
Game 2: Ducks 1 | Hippos 0
Another great performance from the Ducks ballslingers. Paul had the changeup working and fooled opponents for 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball. Tanner came in for a 4 out performance, retiring all those guys via strikeout.
The Hippo's Raaf pitched equally well, striking out 9 batters and getting many of those in clutch situations with runners on 3rd. Mark Fenner eventually broke through the stalemate with an odd single, an awry pickoff that sent him to 3rd, and the all exciting walk-off wild pitch.
Close than we wanted it to be, but did what we had to do!
We have a week off to enjoy friends and family over independence day. After that, we are trying things from the 1st base side of Barnes field as we take on the Bombers on July 10.

Week 4: Ducks Quack Out A Split Against RamJam
Game 1: Ducks 0 | Rams 10
The highest scoring team in the league was 1-hit by Baker. We couldn't figure him out. On defense, we held it together and gave ourselves a chance until we unraveled in the top of the fourth and let them put up 8 runs, 5 of them unearned. Rams plated one more in the 5th to hand us our first slaughter rule loss of the year.
Game 2: Ducks 14 | Rams 8
The Ducks took the first loss rather personally and came out hot. Tanner started the game with a leadoff triple. While we left him on base that inning, we'd proceed to have a well-balanced attack to score in every inning after that. As a team, we compiled 14 hits, 4 EBH, 9 BB, and 4 SB.
Jason had a turbulent start, but settled down in the second inning. He had an effective 5.1 innings with Anthony and Ben calling a great game behind the plate. Nick picked up right where Jason left off and ensured the Ducks got their dub.
Week 4 Notable Performances
Game 1, no one deserves accolades.
Game 2
Anderson: 2/3, 2B, 3B, 2R, 2 RBI, SB, 2BB
A. Schreier: 3/4, 2R, 2 RBI
Bielenberg: 3/4, 2B, 1R, 1 RBI

Week 3: Ducks Split with Rival North Stars
Game 1: Ducks 4 | North Stars 5
After getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Stars last year, the Ducks were out for blood. The offense strung a few hits together in the 2nd inning to plate 3 runs. Nate backed it up with a quality start on the mound, throwing a perfect game through 4. We extended the lead to 4 after Quigs got a leadoff single and rookie Dezell hit him in.
Unfortunately, the Stars figured Nate out the second time through the lineup and put up 4 runs in the 5th to tie the game. In the top of the 5th, they added another to the tally. We didn't answer in the bottom of the 7th, and lost a heartbreaker.
Game 2: Ducks 4 | North Stars 1
Jason got the rock game 2 and had the Stars off-balance all day. We heard a lot of "F&#%"'s and groans as they continued to hit weak fly ball and grounders. Swan came in and saved the game with a 5 out, 3K performance. Welcome to the squad, homie!
Asa got his 100th career hit in the top of the 1st with a 2 RBI double. He'd proceed to score on a wild pitch to get the Ducks out to an early 3-0 lead. Quigs had another 2/3 game. Kane squared up with a couple and pimped a double to right center. Unfortunately, we couldn't string much more together, and only got one more run in the 6th when JT walked and Paul hit him in. But it was enough to get a dub.
Good battle, Stars. We'll see you in the playoffs. We'll be quacking past RamJam next week at Barnes field.
Week 3 Notable Performances
Quigs: 4/6, 2 SB
Asa: 100th career hit
Haight: 5.1 IP, 1R, 1K

Ducks Start the Season with Resounding Sweep vs. Tigers
Game 1: Ducks 14 | Tigers 1
After a long IBEX season and a handful of preseason practices, the Ducks bats were dying to see some live pitching. Our patience was tested after a long merry-go-round 1st inning where the Ducks plated 5 on 0 hits. The hits came later, and between walks, plunks, agressive baserunning, and opportune hits, the Ducks scored 9 more in the following innings to cement things for our pitching staff.
Nate Erickson got the rock for game 1. Command of the slider led to 3 scoreless innings with 2 K's and no walks. Not bad for the first outting of the year. Rookie Peter Weber-Choals closed out the remaining two innings in a respectable 3 K debut.
The Ducks wish the Tigers' Jake Eckholm a healthy recovery from a serious injury he suffered running to first in the 4th inning. Get well soon, buddy.
Game 2: Ducks 17 | Tigers 7
This game was the one we had waited for. Hits came from everywhere in the lineup, power was on display, and the runs just kept coming. Kane Nelson joins the tater club after a 2-run shot to right-center in the 2nd inning. Asa gets is annaul HR early this year in a rather unothodox way... He hasn't had an inside-the-park homerun since his mom was doing his laundry after games. Quigs roped at triple, and Tanner had a double and a triple.
Defensively the Ducks were sound. We had a moment where we threw the ball around like a bunch of kids, but we'll forget about that dog water quickly. Nick Larson pitched a solid 3 innings before requiring medical aid. Paul Schrier closed out the game with 2 K's through 2.
Week 1 Notable Performances
Nelson: 4/6, HR, 2 2B, 6 RBI, 4 R, BB, K
Bielenberg: 3/4, HR, 5 RBI, 5R, 3 BB, K
Erickson: 3IP, 1H, 2K, 0 ER
