Good Afternoon TCMABL Managers,
As you are all aware, last evening the Board of Directors held a meeting to determine if a 2020 season is feasible and or in the best interest of the league. After a healthy debate and weighing all the various factors, the Board of Directors voted 12 to 6 in favor of cancelling the 2020 season. Please know this was not an easy decision, but we feel as though it is the right decision for our league at this time.
On a personal note, this weighed very heavily on the minds of the Executive Board and the Board of Directors as we know how much baseball means to all of you, your players, and extended families who support our league.
That said, you and your teams can still play this summer, just not under the TCMABL umbrella. We have contacted Marc Fiorvanti (copied on this email) and he has agreed to provide umpires to any TCMABL managers who are scheduling exhibition games this summer. All he asks is that you give him 72 hours notice. Rates are as follows: two 7 inning games costs $190, one 7 inning game costs $100, and one 9 inning game costs $120.
The Executive Board is going to meet later this week to discuss and determine the logistics of several key items (league finances, usage of baseballs, monthly managers meetings starting in July, etc.) for closing the books on the 2020 season, and will follow-up with you at that time. After which, we will turn our attention to the 2021 season, which is the 25th Anniversary of the TCMABL.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information. Otherwise, I hope you and your players have a safe and enjoyable rest of your summer.
Sincerely,
Ryan Lutzka
TCMABL President
